Jackson Fitness Front Desk Attendant (Part-Time)

Position type: Part-time, Non Exempt 

Shifts needed: 5:00am to 10:45am, 11:00am- 4:30pm, and 4:30-8:00pm

Location: MCM Center at Antilles School, 7280 Frenchman Bay, St. Thomas, VI 00802

The Front Desk Attendant is responsible for maintaining a welcoming and supportive environment for all gym members. This role involves providing excellent customer service, overseeing the fitness areas, and ensuring cleanliness and organization within the facility. Additional responsibilities include managing new member sign- ups, handling payments, maintaining data accuracy in gym software, and upholding operational standards as directed by management.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Greet members and guests, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Oversee fitness areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Maintain accurate member records, including sign-ups and payments.
  • Complete daily shift tasks as outlined by management.
  • Ensure towels are cleaned, folded, and stocked for members.
  • Manage point-of-sale software and other data entry tasks.
  • Demonstrate and provide basic guidance on fitness equipment usage.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • High productivity and strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Attention to detail, especially in data entry and membership tracking.
  • Basic knowledge of fitness and gym equipment.
  • Current CPR/AED certification (or intent to obtain).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and point-of-sale systems.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs. for short distances.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Interest in or background in health and fitness (preferred).
